Magic 3.0 Bug !!??

I have install n.10 Magic 3.0 on varius version of PS2 PAL: V4-V5-V7

I have see this problem or bug:

Sometimes, when the cd-r/dvd-r is in the tray with console in stand-by and I click on reset button to start backup, appear a black screen.

To resolve this , I power off the console with I/0 botton and than restart the console with a click on reset. And all return to work fine.

Why This ??? It's a bug or a installation problem ?

I'm inclined to believe this may be an install issue, since it is not a common complaint that I have heard of. Perhpas a weak RESET connection, or maybe a short?

With that said, sometimes my Magic 3 will boot to a black screen (after the spinning electrons), which is what it also does if I try going into PSX mode with a PS2 backup in the drive. A reset fixes this, though.

I'm not agree !!!
I have install more than one Magic 3, exactly n. 10. It's possible that I have do error in install on all chip ?
I take the diagram on NeoAsic.com because china-magic is down. So I think the diagram is correct. The wire are very short because the chip is near to bios. Where is the problem ?

The problem seems to be that you don't believe you may have made an error during your install...

When you say black screen, is it a black screen as soon as you turn on the console? Or, does the playstation or playstation2 logo appear then just a black screen? If you at least get through the logo then it hangs at a black screen, try adjusting your laser azimuth.

I installed 5 of those on v3/4 and none of the above happened...

Sometimes with cd in the tray when click on reset I see black screen as soon as I turn off the console and try another time.

I don't appreciate being PM'd to go to read a thread tht is obviously visible and to which I can choose to contribute. I think the topic is well covered by the contributors so far and have nothing to add especially since I haven't yet installed the Magic 3 I have. Wil do shortly and might then be able to comment.
