magic 3.0 or 3.1 switch?.for GS2?.RSOD?

hi i just get back from the store where i get my magic chip, first it did boot my backup disc of the GS2 v3 just fine, but when i put the bundle to get the codes work. it didnt, it hangs even the text that says loading from...gs bundle, cause it migth be magic 3 and not 3.1?, i open my ps2 and notice the magic pcb was blue with a smile face, equal to the magic 3u on china-magic, so it might be a v3, in that case, can i install the on/off switch for the magic, turn it off, insert the bunlde load the codes, and in the menu where you select start game with x, before open the tray put the magic on again?, has someone tried this?, the another question is, that i have games that didnt boot in my ps2, and in another with mesiah, i think, it did, in the store they told me that the cause was that the cd was patched before, to make it compatible with a gs2 chip(first generation), when i put these games it takes me to RSOD.
I once buy ICO cd-r, and did the patch for playing it with no mod (knife method), with the mega memory 16 cd, from interact, and the patched cd did boot in the magic ps2, and the original cd copy,(it might have the AR2chip patch), didnt....strange isnt it...
some pro that can help pls dont doub it...
