magic 2 + scph-30001 r help

hi peeps, i got a slight problem, i ordered my ps2 from in florida. heres the specs

model no. = SCPH-30001 R
serial = FU1688xxx
date code = 2b

here my prob i wanna get a magic 2 modchip but i a sure that my console is a v5/6 also it has 3 screws in the expansion bay but the date code has me worried a bit .can someone tell me if the magic 2 will work or i hav to get a magic3 or another modchip.1 more thing ,can some 1 tell me if the pioneer a05 dvd-rw can burn perfect copies when using good media?.please reply ASAP

To answer the 2nd part of your question - yes, the A05/105 burns just as perfectly as the previous A04/104 and A03/103 units on 2x certified media. Only difference is that the A05/105 supports 4x DVD-R media which is rare and expensive at the moment and I highly suggest against burning even 2x certified media at 4x.

If you don't need 4x speed, you can probably do better pricewise on a DVR-A04 or DVR-104. Compare prices at www.pricewatch.com
