Magic 2 Loading Probs

How do I load dvd-r and cd-r with magic 2? Ok guys anyone know what's wrong? I recently installed a Magic 2 (possibly clone, bought from gamegizmo). I test it out, works perfect on originals. It works fine w/ all my previous games I had before the install when I used a no solder mod. Now the dvd-r I have tho that would work before does not load. How do I load dvd-r's w/ the magic 2? Also I had about 40 games that were to big to play w/ a no solder mod. I tested them in the last few days and about 15 of those will not load.These include socom, wipeout fusion, ghost recon, and some others. Now ghost recon loaded the first time I tryed but it was pal, so i patched it to ntsc w/ ntsconv and it doesn't work now. Also I had timesplitters 2 which loaded last night yet will not load today.

Disclaimer: the following are assumptions on my part based on hear-say. I do not have any facts to back it up.

Burn your games on better media like tdk dvdr. Do not try burning the game from the poor media to a good media. The good media will also fail to boot. Cleaning the lens, and try to avoid rips. Here is an extra trick. When I have a game that boots poorly (whether it's from poor media or poor burn) this trick frequently works. From standby, press and hold the reset button for 2 to 2.5 seconds, the game will boot (be careful not to hold the reset button down too long otherwise it would go into psx mode). I don't know why it works but it does for me.
I also have problems converting a pal game to ntsc. I got so tired on trying to get the conversion to work, I just went out and bought a video format converter.

I think that the clones did have some problems, hence the utter hatred towards clones of any kind. For a proper magic2, you only have to insert the dvd-r, switch off (after tray closes), start up 3-5 seconds later. Either that or hit reset 3-5 times quickly after putting the disc in - worked sometimes. I think it may be a clone if those discs don't work, but it could be bad media. v1-v4's lasers die realtively quickly compaired to v5-v7's, it could be that.

The best advice I can give you is buy a messaih2 from foundmy for $35. IMHO thats worth ditching your non-messiah2 chip and getting the Cadillac of modchips.
