Hey guys just wandering if this is normal? i mounted my magic 2 chip on the side of the cage of my v7 ps2, whenever i play my ps2 now the side of the case where the modchip is gets real hot, is this normal? Should i wrap the chip in electrical tap or something or not worry about it?

The heat should not destroy anything this chip normaly runs HOT you should NOT be playing games for more than a few hours at a time anyways. It could destroy your brain. The apple and the X0-2 don't seem to have the same HEAT factor as the Magic 2.

don't rap it in electrical tape!
that will insulate it, and the heat will build up around the chip, making it even hotter. If you have it mounted on the side of the cage, it should be far enough away from stuff, not to effect it.
As the others said, 5-6 hour at a time is about the max you should go. Then it is time to take a break for both you and your system. Don't leave the system on when you aren't playing either.
