Hi Guys

OK I have been in & checked my mnop which although possibly a fault looks ok now. But after installing a magic 2 into a V7 I still have.

A black screen, then a very brief blue flicker before going back to a black screen.

The CD drive starts to whirr for a second then stops (from boot up). The drive takes a long time to eject & when it does, there is no operation from the drive to suggest it is trying to read the disc.

My G & D wires on the board were touching which I believe was the cause of me not having a blue light at boot up.
My 5V wire had also initially come loose which may have affected something.

I'm sure somebody has encountered the blue flicker before!

I should have deleted this post like I did the same one on the other forum but I felt sorry for you. The blue flicker occurs on every boot up on every console when RESET is pressed. It's just a piece of squelch as everything resets and capacitors discharge etc - or something like that.

Look at your soldering again. You do have a continuity tester, yes?

Omg Im bin a nugget lol askin daft questions!

Will hide my face with embarrassment 4 a week - but I did only buy a PS2 to rip apart so I never really had chance to see how it behaves in normal mode.

Tis my current hobby m8, when I've sussed it, I'll prob get bored & do something else (Giz a gamecube lol).
