M7 MP-568L chip

I have a Ps2 slim line SCPH-70004
wich has a M7 MP-568L chip inside http://www.world-chip.com/mp568L-1.htm
i got this ps2 second hand from som1 that did not want it anymore

the problem is that it plays original disk ok
but refuses to play game bakups
it also refuses to play Original DVD Movies(non copies) & Copies
Audio Cd's play though copies n non copies

if you disable the chip DVD movies(non copies) & Copies Play no Problem

Ive checked continuty with my meter and all the wiring seems ok
Did a visual check of the conections and all seems to be in place.

Does this Mean this chip is not functioning anymore?
would replacing it with something like a Modbo 760 revive the ability to play Backups?

Im a newbie to Ps2 Chippin

I removed my old chip and fitted a modbo 760 chip

now my ps2 plays backups and Original dvd game and movies without a problem
I get the modbo splash screen and the playstation logo
now has a modbo logo at the bottom

the only problem i have come across is that i have 1 original dvd disc that wont play!
it gives me a blue screen that says this dvd wont play because of the regon?
but then shouldnt the modbo make my ps2 regeon free?

K just found out that I need to hold Circle and Triangle on boot
then match the disc region no with the config screen

so I'm all sorted

Wonder why no1 replies in these forums
but anyway im a happy chappie
