    Hi all,

I just installed a M2 in my Pal V6 by de-soldering my M1 (working flawlessly) and replacing it with adding the clock wire. When I power up the PS2 and try backups I get the Red screen. When I wait some (and try a few times) it suddenly starts working, and keeps working. I resoldered everything with new wire and the problem is still the same. Could this be a clock problem? I used the alternate clock point with no schielding/twisted pair wire.

    TIA,

    Durkie

OK, solved it. It WAS the clock wire. I went back to the original position and used a twisted pair. Works like a charm. Thanks for all your help and responses :-p

Hmmm, was too happy too soon. Stil my M2 doesn't alway do the job. Some extra info: when not functioning, psx and dvd run fine on an short reset just like when there's no chip installed. I still suspect the clock wire. Anyone ??

Might be the Reset wire isn't well soldered. I hope you didn't use that thick stuff people are saying works! It just makes soldering to the point more difficult and prone to a short

I doubt that it is the reset wire because this behaviour was the same with the original set of wiring which worked perfectly with the M1. Maybe I'll replace the M2 with another M2 tonite to see if its a buggy M2. If not i'll go back to the M1 and wait for the DMS3 :-) Or is there anybody who recognizes this behaviour?

Just replaced the M2 with another from the same batch, and all problems are over. Still puzzles me.....
