M2 PRO with PS2 V3 GH-007
M2 PRO with PS2 V3 GH-007 –
09-28-2003,06:31 PM
I chipped a PS2 V3 GH-007 (gap) pal version with messiah2 pro v1.3.
Original ps2 dvd are boot ok, after pressing reset the browser
screen is up and after 15 seconds boot the
game.
Backup ps2 dvd-r are boot ok, after pressing reset the browser
screen is up and after 15 seconds the disk is
boot the game.
Backup ps2 CD NOT OK, the browser screen is up and stay.
Original ps1 boot ok, the game boot without going through the
browser screen.
Backup ps1 NOT OK, the browser screen is up and stays.
No problem booting dvd medias.
CD media is boot ok only with original ps1 games.
Booting NTSC games PS1 and PS2 cause the screen jumpy and the pictures are dubled. only PAL games work fine.
I checked the SCEX wire point and find it well.
Is that a matter of a bad laser lens?
From my experience the laser problems start with the DVD range, isnt it?
Any idea what going on with this machine?

I suspect incorrect burn of CVD games. CloneCD is the best software to use.
The jumpy screen on NTSC games will likely be that your TV does not support NTSC signal.

All the CD games are work on my and more PS2 machine.

The TV is multi system. When I connect other PS2 to this TV the screen is OK.
I dont suspect the CD burn quality and the TV is support NTSC signal.
Is this phenomenon can cause by a faulty chip?

I would suspect more so that the laser is on it's way out.
Being a V3 and all.
Have mentioned this before - but I chipped a V3 once that worked 100% with all games I had but the customer had a stack of PS1 games on Mitsubishi CD-R and only 30% of these worked - seemed his laser just could not handle this media type even though it worked fine on my PS1 and his PS1 and on other PS2's.
Just his PS2's laser was not so good and needed adjusting to get these games working.
