Is there an issue with the messiah and V10 boards?

I read that the M2 was responsible for killing PS2s (v9s), is this true, and if so, does it affect V10s? (UK PAL).

I just ordered a premodded V10, with M2 installed, and am worried that I will have a dead unit in weeks.

Please let me know guys, asap, so I can cancel the order if I need to.

It is now agreed that the Messiah is not the only modchip causing the v9s and v10s to die prematurely, similar cases have been found with DMS3, Matrix, etc. modchips as well. And the problem is manifest in both PAL and NTSC versions although it seems less prevalent in NTSC consoles. I don't know about the other regions.

The knowledgeable people here are still trying to find the real cause and so far haven't found a definite solution as of yet.

I think your safest bet is to get a pre-v9 console but since your PS2 should have a warranty anyways, I say try it, if it breaks down they should replace/repair it or go with the older consoles.

Yes, v10 have the same chances of failing after the modchip installation. But the failure is not related to the M2 modchip!
There are reports of v9 failures that have all types of modchips.

Whoops, I just edited my previous post to read "pre-v9" instead of "pre-v9 or v10" cuz that would mean that v10s are okay which isn't true.
