At a loss of what to do..
At a loss of what to do.. –
I have a V4 PS2 w/ a Duo 2SE in it.
Problem: if the DVD/CD is not read before the PS2 Browser comes up, it does not boot the game (Flashes No Data and goes to RSOD).
With the original laser, it would read CD-Rs and one single DVD-R that I had. After 4-5 bootups, it stopped reading that DVD-R, and eventually CDs. I played with the POTs and got it reading CD-Rs, but never again DVD-Rs (even that one that worked). So I figured, laser problem.
Bought a new laser, installed it and right now it is playing CDs/CD-Rs perfectly. It will not read DVDs (even pressed PS2 games) in time before the browser comes up. Disk spins up immediately, then it tries to read the header information i guess and after a couple seconds lets out a click noise and slows the DVD down, then spins it back up and tries again, but by that time it is too late. Eventually it will read the DVD, but not in time.
I have messed with the screw on the rail of the laser, I have turned the white cog 11 positions in each way (not really sure what that does).
nobody has any ideas?
Try another Duo 2 SE. Swap chips. Last thing I would do is reinstall completely.
