Anyone got the Lord Of The Rings: Two Towers to work with a V4 no solder. My friend made backups for us and mine is the only one that doesnt work. The gameshark swap works because the game goes to boot, but then it sounds like the laser cant find any data and it hangs at the initial black screen. My friends all have a magic 2 mod.
We are using sony media which I have about 8 other games on that boot and play perfectly without a prob so I dont think it media related.

does anyone think this is a TOC issue? The media plays fine on th e machines with the magic 2 installed.

yeah if its the two towers dvd rip then its probably a toc issue considering the dvd rip is 3 full cds :/

not a rip
its a dvd-r burn on sony dvdr media.
I just found out that my ty the tazmanian devil has the exact same problem.
I did get LOTR to finally boot but it takes a long time to actually load the game. Sounds like it keeps spinning down and reading the boot sector over. Once it does boot the game plays flawlessly.
Ty on the other hand I cannot get to boot at all.
Both of the games are EA and they are the only ones giving me problems. I have about 25 other on the same sony media that work fine. And like I said they work fine on a v5 and v7 ps2 with magic 2.

Anyone think this could be some sort of minor copy protection EA put into the game that my older v4 and shitty nosolder are having a hard time bypassing?

Can't wait till my messiah 2 shows up. Then all my troubles will be washed away

Can you tell me how long it took to actually boot TTT?
I have a V4 with a NEO 2.2, and it just hangs at that black screen also..sounding like it is trying to boot. I thought it was the same issue with the TOC.
Can you let me know if there was anything special you did, or did you just wait forever?

I am using Devil May Cry to boot.

well its not a TOC issue becuase it is the exact same with my messiah 2 installed. It is however a bad burn. We burned another copy of it and that one works perfect.

ummm is the LOTR 2 patched this is the reason why it wont load????

if you have a chip that requires swap tricks (then i dontt hink they have patches for ea games)

you have to patch it b4 burning it getting a ea patcher can find them anywhere

No its a dvd copy so it doesnt need to be patched. On my old v.4 no solder chip it would eventually play if I reset it a couple of times or waited long enough, which is exactly what it does now with my messiah2. I borrowed my friends backup and It works perfectly with the nosolder and the messiah 2.

When I originally said that, i was told that it worked by my friend that burned it. Since he burned 4 backups he only checked 2 and assumed they were all good. But the disc is definitely not working on another messiah2 chipped ps2.
