Looping DVD Browser... DMS Install

So I installed the DMS v2.0 into a ps2 v7, and a weird thing happens. All the game stuff works fine (DVD-R, Orig, PS1, etc...), but the DVD Player isn't working correctly. When I stick in a DVD Movie, the browser screen pops up. When I hit X to play the movie, the screen goes blank for a second, then the browser shows up again. This is most likely an install issue, but I don't see anything that is the problem. Is there anyone out there who knows which specific points might be the culprit? Are you booting in dvd mode when trying to play a dvd? you have to hold square on startup, otherwise the dms 3 will tell the ps2 it's a ps2 disc, and then it won't boot, but just go back to the browser.
