I had a PS2 big console 2 years ago but got bored with it so sold it after like 7 months. Now I might be getting a PS2 Slim soon. Whats a good modchip for it? Whats the "fix" that I have been hearinf about? Thanks

Matrix Infinity, Modbo 2.1, Myth Chip, DMS Plus, Ghost 2. The fix is so your laser doesn't burn out
also crystal chips are good . If your buying a new slim from any store you will not need a laser fix as its for old V12 system with 56k modem.
I got the model number, its scph-70012 with my luck I am guessing its a v12. I am looking to just backup games. I dont need any other stuff. What would be the easiest chip to install that still plays backups without any swap crap?
yes its V12
crystal chip 1.1.... good for all the slims.
First, I checked the rules and tI didnt see anything that objected to my question. If I missed it, please dont ban me for my question. Are there any modchips that have bios on them that let me play backed up games when I get the chip?
Matrix infinity does that. They are all about the same to install. Plus you need to install a laser fix to protect the laser. Matrix infinity can come pre flashed but you can update the software which is recommended. The fixes like subzero work well.
Is the Matrix infinity compatible with the v14? Thanks. Also, do I need to swap discs with it?
for V14 you need matrix infinity green dot and make sure its not homebrew if you dont want to flash it.
homebrew doesnt come with preinstalled flash
normal infinity does
no disc swapping needed
cheers
