Well I am not from LA, but I do them for people all over the country.
Check out the web site listed below for current pricing.
I also am from Louisiana..if anyone near here (I drive all over frequently so I'm used to it) say in state or in Texas, Arkansas, Miss. or whatever can install lemme know. I am taking my ps2 and chip by the electrical engineering dept at LA Tech tomorrow to see if the lab tech. will help me install mine (I missed him today) but who knows if he'll help. If that works out though, I'll let you know, Aznyeast.
See if this helps. If not then contact Racer or LOD (www.freedomlives.com)

in San Francisco
I took Charlie's guide by the EE lab tech dude's office at Tech today. He told me he could do it but would be hesitant to as he is faculty and I'm a student /not/ working on a school related project. So I left a printout of the guide and my name and phone # because he said he'd see if he could find someone who he thought was qualified that would install my modchip for me. I'll keep ya posted and send you an email if this works out. Also if there are any installers in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, or Arkansas (maybe Alabama if it isnt too far) reading this, lemme know. I'm hesitant to mail my ps2 but driving it out is not a problem.
