Loading very slow

Hi

First I got my modchip working so thank you to those who helped. It was the reset ribbon. I ordered it from http://www.richspsxparts.com/ and I must say it was $7 with shipping and the service was great and I recomend to everyone. It was plastic instead of foil so it is very flexible.
Here is my current problem my dvd-r backups take forever to load stuf, they play fine but loading is slow. I have a magic3.1, I use ritek silvertops with the purple gen3 dye, i burn at 1x for safety. I think from looking around it is a laser issue, but do I need a new one, clean the one I have , recalibrate it. I have a version 5 ps@. Thanks

i think the problem are those dvd-r's try TDK's or memorex they are better

Try cleaning the lens with a CD Lens Cleaner (with brushes). That Ritek media is usually fine.
