guys im having a really hard time with the loading speed
im using a modbo, so i cannot change settings
the loading speed problem is only with some games like starocean3, or dmc3, but it's killing me. everytime it changes map, where it's not supposed to load, it loads, and sometimes even have music cut off a while.

is it the problem with microvision fix or something else?
coz im thinking of getting a real MI, and if its not something i can solve by upgrading or changing config, or its something i can solve with the modbo, i wouldnt change it. PLS help
    my modding:
matrix infinity: on and off 6 times
external speakers /w leading wire: done
memory card LED (activity + connectivity): done
controller status LED change + vibration LED: done
    color-change lighting in v12: done
rgb to vga for monitors: FAILED due to not enough material
portable/internal LCD: sadly failed, as ps1 screen doesnt fit. planning same mod with intec screen
external harddisk for v12: CANCELED due to v12 breakdown
window for ps2 dvd-drive mod: in progress

Sounds like your dvd drive is worn out. Search on the forums (or google) for a method to test the resistance of your dvd drive's coils (which will tell you if the drive is worn out)

for god's sake i just got my ps2 two month ago and havent played it for 20 hours yet, and now ur telling me my dvd drive is worn out...f&*king sony...
i think maybe its just my modchip's fault, which is what i want it to be...coz other games are smooth as hell, i mean, even GT4's loading time(actualy gameplay, not the start loading time) is less than 5 seconds, and its title CG was smooth as well.

You say that you just got your ps2 2 months ago... if it was new then this means that you have a slim pstwo.

If you put a mod chip in and did NOT apply a diode/summone/v12 fix then your laser might very well be going. Music cutting in and out and long load times could be a sign of the laser having trouble reading data (it could be a sign of other things too, though)

One thing is sure...the modchip doesn't affect the speed at which data loads (it shouldn't, anyways). If your original games do this as well, then you can be pretty sure that its the laser or drive that has a problem.

If it is only your backups, then check if you're using quality media and that your burner isn't making crappy copies.

    wait a minute...
i think i have this little v12 fix thingy...its like a L shaped chip-set on the left bottom part on my ps2, with my modbo around the center side. anyways, i heard there is a way to install two or three resistors on ur motherboard to limit the laserwork, does that help?
and i've seen a post about upgrading the modbo power supply to 5V, does that help?
