I lifted a trace when trying to solder point W for the dms3 on a v4 GAP ps2. Anyone know what I can do to fix it? I heard that I can juse solder the end I lifted to the end of the trace, but there are so many traces there I can't find my way around... any help?

The W point is the 5th pin (counting from right to left) of the bottom side(as you read the text on it) of the Sqaure Chip that is at the other side of the board next to the BA6664 chip.

BUT, there is a good chance that your ps2 will never work again.... The Vias connect the board's layers between them. If the line to a inner layer is cut.....bye-bye ps2! Before throwing the board away try connecting the point on the IC I describe above to the damaged via!

I think I'm gonna give the ps2 to a pro so he can check it out. If it costs more than 100$ to fix, I'd rather buy a new one...

how many time's do i haven to bang my head and tell people the ps2 is not multi layer it has through hole vias connects one side to the other no layers in between.

to fix this you need to connect, make a link from w on the dsp to the the cd/dvdcontoller aka mechacon track and then connect to the damaged track further up to the damaged track to w on the dms3

a competent pro could do this i would not advise you to do this yourself.
