lens problem

currently i have a version 4 board after modding have problem reading dvd games
regarding the len, it uses red laser when reading DVD ps2 games and infra red laser when reading CD games
but now after i demod ,the lens will use infra red to read my DVD games for a long while b4 it turns red laser and it will not read the DVD games
so may i know what might be the problem?

The BA5815FM chip is partially burned. One of the laser coils may be partially burned too. Because of this, the focus process doesn't perform as required. It is so bad, that the laser doesn't correctly identify the groove.
I had this same problem a few months ago. I have replaced the laser with a new one and it didn't solve the problem. It was only after I have changed the BA chip that the new laser started to work.
