how long will my laser stay alive when i put the cd down to 950 ohms?
i think my laser is ****ed anyway, so wtf?
but i want to have some fun of my ps2... don't really wanna buy a new one

oh, i have 1 more question:
i read another tutorial for this some time ago and it stated that you'd need a oscilloscope to do the job... is that true? (as you said nothing about it)

At your ris (of course) just do it! I haven't measured the point at which the laser breaks down because it's $60 a pop. But my instinct says that 950 won't give you serious grief especially if you are able to cool the unit.

Ideally an oscilloscope is best. But most people need a rough and ready method. One day I might post up the Oscilloscope method.
