Will the PS2 always sound different when playing a backup, im using TDK CD-R for backups and laser makes noises, when i used memorex it sounded terrible. When playing an original the sound is not heard, could it be bad media or will it always make some noise?

Is TDK ok for backups or should i use Verbatrim?

wut else could i use? any suggestion welcome!!

    thnx

I know that this may sound really dumb, but I'm not really certain of what a silver is. Is it a disk that doesn't have a black bottom?

A silver is a 'pressed' backup. Usually sold in Asia where the law turns a blindish eye to it. "pressed" disc's are closer in quality then burnt discs.

Noise varys from brand to brand. There are lots of factors in what will effect a burned disc in your PS2. You have to find something that works best for you. Generally lower speeds and higher quality disc's are your best bet for quieter, more reliable backups. But, for example, I had an old burner that basically perfered to only burn Fuji's and Verbatims with any sort of quality. Now I have a very new burner and I can do 'disc on the fly' in under 5 minutes on 90 cent CD's and they run quieter then my $2 Verbatims.

It's all in my post "CD-R Burning Speed" lurking somewhere in this forum. It explains how good opaque marks are made so that re-reads and re-focusing do not have to occur and which accounts for laser noise.
