PS2s with Sanyo heads will NOT work with a sony Head! The "resistor" mod that is known will NOT work! I do not know ,so far, a mod that will allow a PS2 to run with a different type of head!!

Yes, 400c laser can be replaced with 400c, no matter NTSC or PAL
    Same with all others. HD7 with HD7, 400b with 400b or 400c on V4...

    regards,

The same type of laser work in all regions ps2 .

There are two types of the Optical Block, SONY-OP and SANYO-OP on F-chassis and G-chassis. The SONY-OP has a SONY logo mark.

There is New Object Lens (T609K-LENS) of Optical Block for D-chassis and F-chassis.
The New Object Lens (T609K-LENS) has a light yellow protector of the object lens; the current object lens (T487-LENS) has a white protector. The protector is a ring of the object lens. See the technical memo ref: PS2-S032 March 17, 2002.

But on D-chassis, first lots of the new object lens on SONY-OP (KHS-400B), there is a white protector of the object lens with a violet marking at the base of optical block at the side of the adjustment screw. Note, you could see a black marking, blue marking and green marking, but this is not the new object lens meaning.

For fit a SONY head in a ps2 with a SANYO head need EEP-ROM Adjustment.

Where did you find this program? What cable does it need to connect with the ps2? It's very interesting, flashing the dvd drive eeprom!
