the problem is that ever since i got my Magic 3 chip in my ps2 (v5), i can't play audio for over a minute or even less.. it just freezes.. i think its my lazer. but is it the chips fault? or did the chippers swap my good lazer for a used one?
even original audio cd's freeze after playing too long.. (30sec)
but maybe my ps2 heats up too much? or something?
DVD-r,DVD,cd,CD-r all play, but i really noticed something was wrong when playing GTA3 (kalisto) the music started to skip. Is my lazer dying? if so, how much would a new one cost?
Its a good possibility that the chip is your problem and not your laser. Since your able to boot all games in various formats and media types with no problems, then the problem must lie with the Magic 3. I don't think the developers bothered to test audio CD's on their chips, as very few people would bother playing songs on their PS2. Your best off playing your audio stuff on a dedicated CD player.
As for GTA3, since its a Kalisto rip and not on DVD-R, piss it off and get it on DVD-R format, I doubt if you'll have problems of skipping. If it still persists on DVD-R, then your laser needs a slight tweak.
Relayer :D :D :D :D
this goes for the same with magic2 it either skips for freezes
i dont think chip supports audio i think somehow the chip interfears with the reading and the mod thinks its a backup and its trying to ps2 to plat at the same time (i could be wrong)
many ppl were putting switch on there mods so they turn it off when ever they wanted to play music
may i also ask why you use your ps2 as a cd player when you can buy a cd player for half the price of a ps2
ps2 is only really used for games and maybe movies unless you have a sepert dvd player
cheers:lol:
