    Hello,

Installed a Mini Apple Pro in a v5/v6 unit.

    the things that load:

    -CD originals
    -DVD originals
    -DVD back-ups
    -Back-ups of PS-one games
    -DVD Video
    -Audio CD
    -Original Ps-one games

As you can see, the CD back-ups don't load.
When I put the Cd in the CD tray (when starting up the PS2 with the eject button) and press the reset button, the CD-back up spins (not really spinning, just doing what the console always does when it's starting but a few seconds longer, and it stops one time in it) and 3 seconds after the laser reads it, (because it takes so long the screen goes to the browser) and I see the console going to RSOD .

What the hell can I do about it? the console takes way to long to load the back-up, how can I get it loading faster? It this because I use the wrong cd's? Do I burn to fast? (8x speed)

    I really need help

    Regards,

    Ps2divx

check your PS2 cd copies to another ps2. If they work, remove the head and adjust the CD pot to 100 ohms less that its current setting. Its weird that the PS2 plays DVDr Games. The most common thing due to the wear of the head is to cease reading DVDs. About the modchip, if it plays DVD-r games it can play CDs too!
IMO this sounds like if your copies do not work!

The problem i find with V5 machines , is that , if the disc is not focused befored the stars finish and the system goes to the browser screen the disc will not load , i sugguest listening to the machine and watching with the lid off the console and see what is happening , i would considering cleaning the len's and perhaps a minor tweak to the dvd preset.

    IMHO.

Of course I do the same procedure, I found out that if I play PSX games (copies), It many times dussent load. I don't know exactly what you mean with "adjust the CD pot to 100 ohms". the copies worked because I had a "R-mod No solder chip", and all these games worked well on that chip, The laser seems to load to slow because indeed it focusses to slow, that's why many times PSX copies just won't load. DVD is no problem but if I put in Cd games . I only mod Ps2, please explain to me what mean with ajusting to 100 Ohms

    (Originals still work well )

(Where can I buy those cleaning discs?) We had 2 of them but you have to put some stuff (looks like thick water) on the cd, and I lost that stuff!

If cleaning discs don't work, are there any other options left?

    Regards,

the differnece with your old chip and this new one , is that the disc needs to be focused and ready to load before it reaches the browser screen .

with your old chip time was not So important.
