Can anyone help problems seems to be really occur with Vice City. Got a messiah but after about 10 minutes, when things start to get frantic it just comes up with Loading. All the building graphics etc start to simplify and then eventually just hangs on loading.
Do I need a new laser or does it need recalibrating.
Any help would be well appreciated.
Cheers

You should mention which model PS2 - helps place the diagnosis - which at this distance is pretty much guesswork anyway.
GTA VC and GTA3 are "streaming" games that collect the next frame's data as the game plays. If it can't read the disk in time, the game reaches the next point without the display data. GTA VC has a check in it to see if the data is there and if not it displays 'loading'. If it gets into a hopeless mess - well that's what has happened to you.
If this is a poorly burned DVD-R or poor media quality, then it can't keep up.
If it's a warn laser diode, thenit can't keep up.
If it's a DVD rip onto CD, it may be basly laid out and can't keep up.
