I just installed a no-solder chip in a neighbors V5 PS2. When testing it out, i noticed that when the tray goes back in it takes a couple seconds longer than normal plus it sounds like it is having trouble reading the discs. I hear alot of laser movement that i dont hear on mine. Is that a sign of laser failure? Do they make replacement lasers or complete drive kits- thanks

No Idea of its a laser failure. Remove the chip and check it again.
If the failure strill happens then its possibly a laser failure.
If it doesnt, please swap to real no swap modchip like Messiah2, Matrix or DMS3

The laser did that before installing the chip. I dont want to install a no-solder cause for one thing he doesnt want to spend the money to pay me and i dont want to spend the time solder one up. Since it was bad enought to install a M2 in mine.
