I tried that KNIFE/COG swap thing and when I tried it I think I may have broke off that white pin thing and now my cd tray won't open unless I hold my ps2 upside down and it goes back in no problem but when it goes back in it acts as if it doesn't know the disc tray is in a make noises.............Is this easily and cheaply fixed?

As I have said so often, stick a knife into the guts of your PS2, twist it for good measure and expect the result you've rported.

To fix it, usually it is a matter of relocating the white pin at the back - but the unit has to be stripped to do this and best done by a pro. If your knofe/implement snagged anything else, you may have more serious problems but usually they can be fixed - BY A PRO.
