need to know if this laser will work in any of these version ps2's.

yea khs-400c will work in versions 1-4 ( version 5/6 will work but you have to make a modification to the ps2 board ) will work on closed face v7-10 boards

that is good news. is the modification to the ps2 board very difficult to do ? if the laser is new will it last ? so i think i am hearing that you can make it work in v5/6 as long as you make a mod to the ps2 board. if its not brain surgery -- thats good news.

i do believe v5 uses 2 different types of lasers -- they fit the same i guess ? just one works with mod one words standard ?

and thank you for your help. info on this mod would be greatly appreciate. the laser is going to leave me for broke.

freedomlives.com really screwed up that ps2 unit. please adjust for "long life and good readability" turns into a total inability to read cdr and some dvdr media that should work.

if its the cdrom itself -- i'm going to die. somehow i dont think the pots will do that though

I have a damaged laser for V9 the model is HD7. Can I change it with some other model 400c, 400b........

400c will work on v9-v10. Actually some v9-v10 come with the khs 400c and not the HD7.
