I have a PS2 and I play Madden 2003 online using the Linksys USB adapter. I have a keyboard that I want to use for online chatting with some of the other players, but the keyboard has a PS2 connector. I recently bought a PS2-to-USB adpater (or is it a USB-to-PS2 adapter?) and connected the keyboard that way, but for some reason the PS2 (console) doesn't recognize the keyboard.

I took the keyboard with the USB adapter and plugged it into my laptop and Windows XP Home Edition doesn't recognize the keyboard as well. I'm assuming that the laptop (and my PS2 console) doesn't recognize the USB adpater. Is there anything else I can do, aside from buying a true USB keyboard?

This may be a basic/newbie question, but I'm baffled.

    Thanks,

    ToolNila

sounds to me as though the keyboard you have has been programmed to send encrypted signals or something that only a ps2 can decipher

...err... and i guess it can only decipher it through the controller port...

or maybe the ps2>usb conversion does something wierd...

err... just get a new keyboard - theyre practically dirt cheap

both of you's are knuckle heads.

Use a regular USB computer keyboard, and it works like a charm. I use my Logitech USB keyboard for tony hawk 4 and it works perfectly. Alls u have to do is plug it in the usb slots and bamo it works

    hope this helps.

**note i dunno if this will work with madden 2003

I think you're trying to use the USB to PS2 adapter PLUG that only works for a Mouse that already "knows" how to use both PS2 and USB. Either that or the USB to PS2 Adaptor that needs drivers for the PC

USB to PS/2 Converters have been known not to work with Ps2's your better off buying a usb keyboard.
