hi, if getting a ps2 to run dvdr backups is so hard, would it not help to get someone in the know to put the ar2 software on a dvd disk with a deliberate large toc, so we have the dvd boot block we require to do the swap.
maybe im wrong but is this possible.

You're wrong I'm afraid. A bcakup of AR2/GS2 only boots on a Messiah and there's little point to that!

sorry, i actually meant an actual pressed dvd not a dvdr, this way it would boot it.
i know that people do have the press machines out there as software turns up on car boots that are clearly pirates but are actual real dvd disks. :-)

But what they won't have, and if they do they'd be taken straight to court, is the Sony proprietary pre-groove pressing data that enables the PS2 to determine a genuine game disk.
So your idea would not be feasible. In any case there is no distinction in AR2 terms between having it all on one DVD and swapping a game in through the opportunity provided by AR2 at the without codes stage.
