just had my v7 modded with a mars 3

hey all. i just found this site. looks cool.

i just had my v7 modded with a mars III MA-502 chip. but i am having trouble with it.

i am trying load my GTA san adreas game (official disc) and it isn't working. i get the "playstation" startup screen, but then i just get a black screen. one time it told me that i need to insert a proper ps2 disc.

i then tried my GTA game again and it got all the way to the poart
where it would load my game from the memory card, but it gave me an
error saying that it couldn't read the disc. i never got that message
before.

after that i turned the machine off (to standby mode) and when i turn the power on (from stand by mode) nothing happens. the green power light and the blue tray light are on, but i can still see the tv. then after bout 30 or
40 seconds, i get a black screen on the tv and nothing happens.

sometimes i can't even get the tray open.

i also tried my old soccom I game, but that didn't work either

i didn't do the mod myself. i would have absolutely no clue how to do it. am i ****ed?

sounds like a wire is loose, on wrong point, or a cold solder joint. or the mod is no good.

thanks for the reply. i spoke to the guy who modded it and it turns out it is a bad chip. it is being replaced tomorrow.
