why would the chip(clone of magic 3.1) kill his ps2?
LeonSWITCH do you know something that most of us don't?
when it is installed right....the magic 3.1 (or its clone's) works. maybe not as reliable as M2 or DMS3 but it works and i don't know why you say it kills ps2?

ive put a few in (at customers request) , like i said as long as its put in right it wont kill your ps2 .

weird I have been reading his posts and all of them say that "Take out the Magic Mod Chip (kills it)"

Also this is the first time installing a modchip (I usually hire). But you gotta start somewhere.

I just got my ps2 ver 5/6 modded with a magic 4.1 nh6 (clone) and it boots everything flawlessly but i cant get the damn thing to boot ps2 cdr backups.Its tripping me out cause it boots ps1 backups perfect and they are burned with the same software and media and they wont boot at all.Ive tried so many different boot methods,software and media and nothings works. Any ideas on whats wrong with it?Im gonna open it up and check all the solder points is there anything in particular i should look for?Is it possible that a wire was soldered on to a wrong point or something?Someone give me some advice plz i guess that's the price to pay when getting a clone i suppose

Oh yeah ive cleaned the lens already and adjusted the laser,also put in a brand new one and still no luck.
