I just installed the DMS3 v1 chip in my JAP100000 model PS2 and I got the PS2 before I got the power transformer, because I live in the UK.

As I was so eager to play with it, I soldered everything and prepared the PS2 to be ready and chipped so when the transformer came, I could plug it in, and play!

The soldering was all perfect and when I go to test it out, the ps2 gives me a blank screen with fuzzy lines over the screen, so I think it might be ok.

The eject button does not work and the blue LED above it isnt on either.

I desoldered everything and now the same thing happens. No bridged cd/dvd pins or bad soldered areas.

Unfortunately I cant tell if it would have worked without the chip in first, because I was impacient

    Please help!

Check the fuses and Power Supply. Also, go over all solder points with a fine tooth comb.......could be some loose solder balls somewhere that's making contact.

One other thing is to make sure you have an NTSC compatible TV, SCART lead, or done the PAL fix for NTSC machines to display the picture properly.

How can I check the fuses and BA chips with a multimeter? Not continuity test is it?

Also, whats the disc you speak of?
