Ok, just got an scph 10000, and i was planning on modding it after i get a new laser for it, since the old laser stopped reading dvds. anyway, just want to know a few things about the DMS3 and the original japanese models

    1. Just making sure of this, but does the DMS3 have hdd support, and which firmware would i need?

    2. Does devolution mode work on these original models, or not, and with which firmware?

    Thats pretty much it. thanks

It'll support it, up until Flash 1.8 and you have not installed BB Nav 0.30 You'll need at least to bring it up to 1.6c if you can still find the flash. The default 1.3 will give you either a black screen and/or fail to boot discs. I had a tutorial up in Jap/Asian before it was nuked.

Now, you can only upgrade the chip after it has been installed in the 10k if the Flash Mem is completely new (never been flashed) or has been zapped by the newer flash update utilities

You'd be better off installing it in another machine, upgrading, then sticking it in the v0...you'll save yourself the hassles

Nope..Dev mode does not work properly on the v0 because of the missing modules in the BIOS. This includes Dev Mode 2.0 with the HDD support.

ive got the files for 1.6, and i think ive got the files for 1.2 even though that has nothing to do with anything. anyway. what if i installed the dms3 then flashed it with 1.6, and later to 1.8 after i installed the harddrive and everything. also, i think the bb navigator out right now is 0.31, but i might be wrong.

I guess the fact that devolution mode doesnt work on v0 is just another indication that v0 is not as good as i always though, but oh well, im just glad to actually own one.

they really need to bring back the jap/asian forums. right when i get my second jap machine, they nuke the forums
