Internal cartridge mod

I'd like some input on installing a cartridge(memory, GS, etc), internally. I searched the forums and haven't seen anyone mention doing this. I just connected the Gameshark's 8 contact points to the PCB where it would plug in with 6" 30awg wires. Since my PS2 is already open waiting for a Majonk 3.1, I'm ready to give it a try.

what can you gain by doing that?

I got my unit back in one piece and the Gameshark works internally, freeing up a cartridge slot, which I have a Sony 8MB cartridge installed in now. My GS2 dongle won't allow too many cartridges, especially the memory expansion carts, to fit next to it. And I am tired of looking at it!
