    Hi guys

    I have a problem...

I did an install a couple of weeks ago and all appeared to be fine, the chip works fine, and all backups boot fine when you first turn it on.

The problem arises when you try to swap the disk (not always the first swap, you can swap them a few of times and its still ok). all backups stop booting. I just get the red screen (originals always boot fine).

Now there were a couple of problems during the install and a couple of pads came off the chip (E and P) so I removed the lacer and soldered to the tracer (both connections are good, infact all the connections are good I've double and triple checked them. Although i do get a crackly beep from my multitest on some of the lines)

Could this be the problem or do i need to look elsewhere?

this has been going on for a couple of weeks now and im fresh out of ideas. short of replacing the chip. and i dont have any atm.

    Thanks Townfool

Have you found the problem yet? I'm having the problem right now with my v9 unit. It works at first, but later on it won't boot anything. I think I may need to solder to the alternate power source.
No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

I ended up replacing the chip with a dms3, however i did notice a small fault with one of the bios wires (m/n i think...)

    Hope that helps
