well after a failed mod install, i cleaned the solder points, now a black screen results, however the eject button does work and the tray does eject, but the cd does not spin and makes a brief ticking noise of sorts....ne and all help will be much appreciated

all lights and buttons work
chip works(allows itself to be reflashed from memory card and boot menu works)
When booted(regardless of media inserted or if chip is on/off):
Drive makes a little skid noise....lazer moves about 0.5 inch on slide pole..but cd does not spin or move at all....
Browser appears...but no disk icon
Checked fuses PS1 - PS16
Completley replaced the drive(everything except the ribbon cable that connects the lazer head to the MB.
Still trying to work out how to test the BA chip on MB
