Interesting findings about Magic vs Messiah

Out of sheer boredom I decided to run a traceroute on China-Messiah, and China-Magic (Basically to see if the claims for all of these "New" Magic chips were legit, in seeing as we only have a V5/6 solution as of now - V7 is just like the new Messiah that we are still waiting on...)
Here are my findings -
Traceroute for China-Messiah (from where I am) 19 hops (TTL=237) HTTP Server running Apache and hosted in Hong Kong (not surprising - they are CHINA messiah)
Here is where it gets weird... Traceroute for China-Magic found in 12 hops (TTL=53) running Apache BUT hosted in FT Meyers FL. (This is in the good ol US of A people) Yes granted this could be a "smokescreen" by the mfgr of Magic2, but it just seems odd...
Am I reading too much into this?

My question is why is the "Manufacturer" charging way more than another source I have in the UK? I mean, I understand this guy has all 4 versions of the chip, but he refuses to sell less than 100 at a time (no biggie) and will not send any samples to test. This makes me nervous... (And his site is hosted out of florida) lol
P.S. are the other version chips going to be released anytime soon? I have seen the R version out and preorders for the V7 version...

I think it maybe just a business matter. Many supplier or retailer thinked better take the new version than old type. If you on that position, what do you do then?

even myself take a modchip that support 'R'/'V7' mostly, for a stock

It's dead simple. Someone ripped the Messiah and improved on it by making it available for a whole range of US machines. It is the magic 2.

It's on the market and is unique at this time. So, as niceguys says, it's a business matter. I bet the distribution price is a fraction of the retail price.

You want (you in US been screaming long enough for Messiah functionality), you buy. It's cheaper in UK because Messiah remains its competition. Like I said - dead simple.

BTW, what are you Yanks moaning about - we pay nearly $5 for a gallon of petrol in the UK.
