Hi

no it needs to be the same bios version that the cd/dvd rom chip can decode. IE is needs tp be the same version that board came with.
That model ROM has a diferent pinout (inverted) You need a bios chip from at least GH-015 or newer to use on your board.
I have a broken GH-022 board, but it's japanese and the bios is 090 (V8)
this one is 070
here is a picture of the chip in question... i know it is a very scary picture and i recommend caution for the younger people as viewing this picture may cause "modded" nightmares !!
same board after bios removal and cleanup
Someone put a screwdriver under it and pulled it up ... SCARY !
Your bios code is D 110 050. D is the rom with the boot code
not B10070 (070 is the code for the software on the second half of the chip, the DVD driver and extended libs)
A machine with two ROM chis cam boot with the B chip removed. But will be like a 10k unit, with no libs and DVD driver ...
And yes, a 110 050 or 110 040 you get from a GH-015 to 019 might fit fine.
Older ones won't fit. Must be from same region, else the DVD player will be useless (it depends on the region code of the CD/DVD drive controller)
For the ROM code, that board is NTSC U/C, right ?
I have two gh 013's, one is us, and the other is asian. I was planning to swap the bios chips, any reason i can't?
yes .. NTSC U/C
oh shit did u punch it or something>??
i just had to ask
but it looks good after cleanup
