installin khs 400c laser prob

hi all,

i recently posted a thread sayin that i got my ps2 chipped with messiah and it had probs reading dvd-r. after tweakin the laser, still wasn't perfect so i bought a new laser (khs-400c)

the problem i have now is that all the sites i have been to, it mentions desoldering 2 blobs of solder on the pcb board. however, the laser i have just has one fairly long blob of solder. what do i do, do i desolder this completly or something else.

plus, any one know of any easy ways to desolder with just a soldering iron?

yhea solder it completely till u see the pads and that they are seperated. u need a bigger gauge of wire multithreaded to get the solder off if u don't want to desolder with a desoldeirng braid
