Install Issue on a v7 GH-019 –
Got everything wired up, then I turned ps2 on and a PSX logo popped up, then a PS2 logo, then asked me to set language, so I did and set timezone, then I go to browser and get a disc read error. When I reset it makes me change language/date again. I probably wired a point incorrectly but can anyone narrow down which area it might be so I don't have to check them all? CD/DVD Controller (bottom), top one, bios, etc?
Thanks for all input,
Search on the string "logo" and one of the posts describes the phenomenon. I think you need to look at points C through I as I recall.
Can't seem to find that post, "logo" returns a LOT of threads hehe. I will check C-I, thanks.
I retested all points with a multimeter and they all tested fine. I have no idea whats wrong. Just seems to not read off the CD/DVD drive. The tray pops out fine, but I don't hear any spinning or anything when I pop the disc in. Has anyone had this problem before, if so please post how you fixed it. Thanks very much,
anaybody?? i am, having the same problem
You're right, ugh. Sorry about that. Messiah2 1.22a on a v7 GH-019 board. I think I found what my problem was though. I had the picture of the v3.45 point upside down and soldered the wire to wrong resistor. Check your v3.45 point Voodoo, maybe you and I are both having a backwards day. Anyways, hopefully this will fix the problem. Sorry for the lack of info.
Welp, that didn't fix it, its doing the exact same thing. I don't see why moving the 3.45v point from a wrong one to the correct one didn't make any difference at all but ok..
i am still haing problems with this ps2, its a gh-022 board with a date code of 3a. does anyone have any insight on the issue. we have tried 2 different messiah 2 pro 1.30's
Check for a short on the Bios Chip
No shorts here, checked many times. But after moving my 3.45 to the alt point my reset doesnt work anymore, even after moving it back, I swapped ribbon cables and that didnt help. Yay, now I have no reset and a non-working chip! v7 is supposed to be easier but I had 0 problems with the 2 v4s I did.
there has never been a problem on a version 7 with gh-019 board, date codes 2C, and 2D. now i have this 39001 date code 3A, with a gh-022 board, and 2 different messiah dont work at all. when the mod is out the ps2 works fine. i have searched everywhere and i cant find anyone that has installed a m2pro v1.30into a 39001 with date code of 3A. all the stores here in my city were sold out of ps2s 2 weeks ago, and last week they all had new stock of ps2s. i bought 2 and got the 3A date code. my last resort is Costco Wholesale, hopefully they still have some 2C, and 2D's left.
i have used over 100 messiah 2 pros and never had a problem. i cant even get a hold of the almighty charlie_ps2. he is not responding to his emails.
if anyone has installed a m2pro in a 39001 with a date code of 3A, and gh-022 board, please just tell me if you got it working. THANKS in advance.
