inspection time and some advice needed on some points

You could always look at the alternative points, they are listed on the matrix infinity website for the version 9 ps2 with the infinity chip. Those points are tough no matter where you solder them to. I usually put four of the wires on top of the board and one wire on the bottom. Easiest way I think.

Here are some pics ... I haven't received my modchip yet so I'm just soldering all of the points to the motherboard right now ..

The PWR and GND points are pretty easy for this install .. I should get 20 awg wire for these right ?
Now the points I need some tips on how to solder are the X and S points. These are the SCEx point and the one above it .. Im soldering to capacitors here right ? Or are these resistors ? Anyways, whatever they are they seem to be pretty small and I need to know how to approach these points ...
And now the really tough ones are the 5 points to be soldered onto the back of the motherboard , the vias ... I need some super detailed instructions on how to solder onto these points.. There isn't any solder on these points so will i have to make my own solder pads on these points ?
Thanks

Your mod looks alright so far. Make sure you have some flux for Scex point. The vias are not that hard to solder to if you do it right.
1. Scratch the circle with a razor, it should shine a little if you do it right.
2. Put a little flux on the point. (if you have the non spill flux, you have to melt it with the iron.)
3. Put some solder on the iron's tip then apply it to the via.
4. Solder a wire to it. That's it.
Edit:
I thought this question was asked so many times, I decided to show some pictures of how I usually do it. It's a little dirty but hey I did it in like 2 minutes. So bare with it =).

ok here is a link to the matrix inifinity v9 cd/dvd controllor points ...
http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...V09/USA-V9.JPG
and one for the duo2 v9 points for comparison
http://www.duomodchip.com/english/in.../duo2se_v9.jpg
the duo2 se has 5 via points ... so are the corresponding points
B DUO2 = B INFINITY ?
G DUO2 = G INFINITY ?
I DUO2 = I INFINITY ?
H DUO2 = H INFINITY ?
F DUO2 = Y INFINITY ?
the vias look very fragile to me and im afriad if i put my soldering iron on them they will disappear into the board ... the controller pins look a little bit easier if i can use the razor trick to prevent bridging .. has anyone here soldered onto the dvd controller pins for a duo2 v9 ps2 ?

also the points that sk is using look nothing like the points for the matrix infinity .
