What exactly is meant by this,
3.3V (Power) connection is optional (Chip takes it's power from the bus and is quite fine with this). Does it mean that the 3.3v doesnt need to be connected at all,and the chip will drain the poor old bus to death?

On techtrix.co.uk (they have stock btw) they say you don't need to connect the eject/reset wire, does this mean the mod auto-detects the different media types (psx/ps2/movie) like the infinity ?

Freezer, no it doesn't. You still have to use reset to switch modes.

Settle down big guy, xiaNaix wasn't insulting you he was asking if this chip could be any worse than the original Messiah 2. You know your english isn't good, I suggest you take that into account when you assume people are taking a crack at you as well since it's easy to misunderstand something when it's said in a language that isn't your own.

I belive they take it from one of the other wires.
It will have to be tested to see if this really is a workable solution
or if it will put more stress on the PS2/modchip assembly.
Anyhow for what I understood they will leave anyhow the power supply point to avoid any possible problem.

Chip&Chop.

hmm i don't really see how this chip is any better than the old one. No new features...none...kein...

I think they're banking on the reduced number of wires, rather than features. I think this is ridiculous, there're already tons of "reduced wire" chips with these same old features. A couple wires less isn't going to make a big difference, especially for those people who have a "professional" do the installation for them.

Unfinity
The biggest market is the average user that just wants to play backups, reliably. The messiah at this point is probably aimed at the larger market. The reduced wire count can only be a bonus both to the 'pro' installer and those setting out to mod a console for the 1st time. Less wires = less time to fit, couple that with the price of the chip then it will sell well.
From an install point of view I would rather fit the new m2 than any other chip at this point in time, its rock solid at booting games and is a breeze to fit, not quite what can be said of dms3 or the matrix infinity, which both suffer there quirks.
Btw the install is 19 wires on a V9/10 and 17 on a V7 downwards.
