    Hi folks,

Do you know if it is possible to flash a chip (for example the Matrix team one) with the iso launched from hdd ?

It will prevent me from buying a new DVD drive..

    Thx

Yes you can. You use execftps and launchelf and transfer the flash file. You can open the cue file with iso buster.

Flashing MI firmware using usb thumbdrive also can be done. I'm using this method. Use ISOBuster or UltraISO to extract these 2 files from the image (bin/cue), i.e DATA.BIN and IUPDATE.ELF into your thumbdrive. Take the thumbdrive back to your PS2. Use LaunchELF to launch the IUPDATE.ELF. You'll get the updating MI firmware screen.

I've tried that before trying the launchelf method. I didn't work, the PS2 just started the mc manager(weird). I've always hexedited my mcapps.dat before this, but this time it didn't work.

Well no biggie, LaunchELF did the job for me. I also put the iupdater.elf and the data.bin on my HD so I can update from there.

I may change back to Infinity Manager if the new version proves to be worthy.
