check your conections.
must be a badly connected cable.
Thanx for the reply.
But isn't it strange that I can install the firmware from cd and use the infmanager and all, but not use backup games?
yes but your cables from the chip to the bios is probebly ok. not the ones that conects the cd/dvd part on the board to the chip so my money would be on Y or B because they are next to the cd dvd controlchip, A might be involved to.. but probebly not
I'll rewire it and check for crossings... again..
perhaps you're right. I assume all errors are due to wiring.
I was hoping for someone to say: press x four times and the auto-stealth mode is disabled or sth
cheers
hehewe all hope for that in these kind of situations.
to make the infinity go in to stealth mode push start at startup loads of times.
The sign "DISABLED" will pop up. then softreset the ps2 to boot up in stealth mode.
When you want to activate it again just do a hard reset. (hit the powerswitch on the back)
probebly wont help u, but good to know.
iab is probly your source of problem. HOw are u booting the backup holding reset? if so then u have a problem with iab. If not then try cleaning the laser
Thanx for all your replies guys !!
Checked and renewed wiring iab. The problem remains.
I can load the firmware discs (appear as ps1 discs in browser only in firmware mode), and upgrade it, but no other backup discs will play (the red screen appears that says you have to insert a psx disc), only originals play.
Since the unit can obviously read recordable discs (e.g firmware discs) with the chip, I assume the mod is ok with the iab wiring.
Anyone familiar with this problem?
Cheers.
Thats realy strange...
Im out of ideas. So your best shot would be to mail the Matrix team. If no one
else know.
They use to respond quick and friendly![]()
They have helped me out allot
