imports play in black and white with matrix infinity
imports play in black and white with matrix infinity –
hi, ive just modded my v10 pal ps2 with a matrix infinity chip and when playing a import from usa (burnout 3) it plays in black and white .
I was a bit puzzeld because i thought the infinity will boot any import.
can anyone shed any light?
It's your TV that cannot handle NTSC correctly. You should use a RGB cable or do the rgb colorfix on your PS2 board.
yeah you would think, but i was playing the same game in full colour on the same tv but in my cousins ps2. I dont know what chip he has he bought it premodded.
Also all my xbox imports play fine
Edit- I've just thought my cousins ps2 proberly has the rgb fix that you metioned and with my xbox i can change the picture settings to pal 60hz through my dash.
Thanks for the reply stephen

No prob mate, simply do the rgb colorfix and you'll be ok.
I know alot of people have to do that RGB fix, the install notes of all mods that boot imports should state that the RGB fix will be needed.
Solderless Mods and Flip tops are like tampons, every pussy needs one!
Is there anywhere a Site, where I can the Howto 4 that RGB-Colorfix?
Look for the messiah 2 diagram for your PS2. There's the color fix in there.
The rgb fix is used to stop the ps2 switching to component mode when watching dvd's and that is all.You are getting confused with the pal/ntsc color fix which will force either pal/ntsc colour carrier regardless of game being played.
In the end i bought a rgb scart from argos for £4.99 now imports play in colour .
Here is a link to the rgb fix in the messaih2 guide:
i did have another pic which showed that there are two pins that you can bridge to do the colour fix but i cant find again. sorry
