why cant we take an image of the linux kit CD get our own HDD and usb mouse/keyboard...hookem all up....would this work??

the HD that u get has drivers and a special file system so you need to copy that or crack that firts so you cna put it on the other HD

The Linux kit discs are DVDs. By removing the DVD check on the first disk (RTE/Boot code) it's possible to boot Linux from a CDR (did it to not damaged my original discs). Basically if you have a modchip, ethernet card a Maxtor HDD (or any other that fits), usb keyboard and a copy of the original DVDs it's no problem to boot ps2 linux..
