I'm suck on Jimmy Neutron

I am suck on the third level (hub) of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius. I can get to the end where you jump up to what appears to be a blue/green blob behind a door, that only opens while standing on this platform with a button. I have tried numerous things but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong or what have I missed. I only have a couple of more days to play since I have to go back to work soon. Thanks for any help.

I went to gamefaqs.com yesterday and requested the hints, tips or walkthrough, but I haven't heard anything yet. Thank you for the information though.
