please help me im really new to this...
I live in sweden and i was thinking of getting a ps2 chip for the slim. The way i see it there seems to be only 2 chips worth my attention. The Crystal and Matrix.
Now i was wondering i have backup games of ps1/2 im not into homebrewing and/or hacking. I just want to watch dvd movie, play region free and so on.
Now which one do you recomend?
I have no soldering skills and it cost me about 150$ to get it done, i live in sweden and im poor. So i wanted to do it myself so if you guys can help anyway very simple guidance would be very appreciated.
1. What chip do i need?
2. where can i get it?(links)
3. Can i use a harddrive instead? What harddriv is compatible with my ps2? i have the pal vers. 7 i think.
thank you for your time

If you have no soldering skills, DON'T do it yourself. You WILL end up with a broken machine.
Send the machine to someone who knows what they are doing.
And use the Matrix Infinity chip. Crystal chips isn't as good quality at the Matrix chips.
