Could you try Dynasty Warriors 2 and see if the 2nd cutscene locks up? Its the one after you pick your warrior in story mode. Me, my brother and a friend have each installed a Magic V in our playstations and the game still acts up (two magic v's on v7 and one 50k on a v9). Even the original store bought disc does this until the modchip is turned off and then it works perfect. I mean its no big deal because i've only had a problem with 2 of 50 some odd games but i was just wondering if there was more to a proper install than what the official installation claims or if there are incompatiblities. BTW, the games will work if i cancel out the particular "spot" by pushing the start button. The other game is ICO. Both are CD games. Thanks.

It's not a chip issue. the chip finishes it's "job" when the game boots.

    It's a media issue.

I have been silent on the Magic issue for quite some time because I believe everybody knows how I feel about Magic products. However, when utter nonsense is spoken in defense of ANY (read ANY as in I am not just bagging on Magic chips here)chip, I feel I must respond.

Did you read the original post? What did you not understand about ORIGINAL GAME!!!! How can it be a media issue when it is an original game. On top of that, when the chip is disabled, the ORIGINAL GAME works fine. How can that be anything other than a chip issue?!??!! Listen, we heard the same rhetoric about the Magic 3.....it freezes up. All the experts were saying that it can't be the chip because the chip has done its job once the disk has booted. Funny, Magic then even admits to the problem WITH THE CHIP and puts out the 3.1 to fix the issue. The jury is still out on the 3.1, but we won't go into that issue. Why do we continue to travel down this same road over and over?

agreed sounds like a re authenticating issue during game play.

When does the problem with ICO happen?

I just tested it last night with my Ver.10 scph-50001 with a Magic 5K6, and encountered no problems with the scenes or gameplay messing up at all... but i only played it for a few minutes after the long intro finished.

my friend has an original DW2 so I'll test that too and report back. But so far this chip is really good; it's the only chip that installers in my area use, as they claim that DMS 3 is too expensive and more bothersome to install.

I got the same problem with my customers's v9 with Magic V 50K. I haven't try ICO yet but DW2 got this problem. But Magic V is still a good chip........... if you can install it successful
